A 3 MW floating wind turbine demonstrator in 50 to 100 m of water, with one steel and one concrete foundation.
Team experience
After the Fukushima disaster, Japan made floating wind farms a strategic requirement, and NEDO launched a call for tenders to test floating wind technologies. The consortium was built around a floating technology identified as the best in cost reduction; its developer designs the two foundations (one steel, one concrete) and supports construction and installation of the demonstrator.
