Seismic expertise of a major bridge: a post-elastic diagnosis that guarantees non-collapse.
The expertise showed that the elastic spectrum used in the execution studies strongly underestimated the spectrum defined by EN 1998-5. Vifatec produced a seismic diagnosis based on post-elastic behaviour, accepting damage in the plastic hinge zones while guaranteeing non-collapse.
